A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, idea, or quality.
Example: Ravi, school, book, freedom, honesty

🔹 Important Rules

Proper nouns always begin with a capital letter.
➤ She lives in Mumbai. -
Common nouns are not capitalized unless they begin a sentence.
➤ That boy is my friend. -
Collective nouns are singular in form but refer to a group.
➤ The jury has given its verdict. -
Abstract nouns are often formed from adjectives or verbs.
➤ Kind → Kindness, Honest → Honesty -
Material nouns do not take 'a/an' before them.
